Kimber | Five Months

Weight: 15 pounds 5 ounces(approx)
Height: 26 to 27 inches (Mommy can't get you still enough to measure)

My pretty princess, Kimber Suzanne - you bring so much joy to my life each and every day; your smiles, your giggles, your squeals of delight and even your mega meltdowns makes my heart melt and I fall in love with you all over again! I know I've said it a gazillion times but I love being your mommy and I love watching you grow. Baby Bear, so many of my smiles begin with you! :)

Feedings
We've made it to the point that you are mostly on formula. This breaks mommy's heart as I have loved breastfeeding you! Sometimes when we're home (especially weekends) you will nurse and nurse and you do so good, but you always have to be topped off with formula. Because of this, I continue to pump for you, and while it's very little, it's something.

You know what your bottle is with no problem at all! You grab for it as soon as you see it and you're basically feeding yourself these days since you've got that bottle holding thing down!

We tried to start some oatmeal and baby food earlier this month; you hadn't quite figured out what to do with the food or your tongue yet so we'll try again here soon. The last several days mommy and daddy have shared our mashed potatoes with you and you seem to really like them; guess we'll bust out the spoon again! Plus, you've been very interested in our food and are always trying to grab it off our plates!

Trying some 'nanners!

Sleeping
You are officially in your crib! We put you to sleep between 9 and 10 every night and you don't get up until 6:30 or 7 when we wake you up to get going for the day! Some nights you fuss a few times during the night but mostly because you've lost your bink; you're not even really awake when you have these meltdowns but mommy or daddy still gets up to attend to you.

You do fight off your naps though; you just insist on being in on the action going on around you! But when you do nap, you nap hard! Usually an hour or so, at least while with me. And you usually give up the ghost as soon as we get in the car!

We're not sure how you manage this rotation?!
But we love waking up to these smiles!!

Clothes/Diapers
You still fit into most of your 0-3 month clothes! You've outgrown your 0-3 month jammies so we've switched you over to 3-6 month jammies. You're wearing more and more of your 3-6 month clothes but some brands are just monstrously huge!! Mommy cleaned out most of your 0-3's that definitely don't fit and put them in the "pack away" pile.

You're still in size 1 diapers; we have one last opened pack left and you're definitely going to be graduating to 2's! We STILL haven't bought a single pack of diapers or wipes! Daddy's Beer & Diaper party was a huge success and we'll be using those diapers for quite some time!
These overalls were mommy's!! You're the top photo, mommy is bottom!

Teeth
Nope, no teeth yet! But by the amount of drool you produce and how much you love to chew on anything you can get your mouth on, I think those are coming soon! At least we hope so!

Milestones
You are still talking up quite the storm. You tell us all about it all the time! Also, you've started trully laughing and gigling at things; Miss Amy caught it on video and mommy watches it over and over again because it's the sweetest sound I've ever heard!
You are able to sit up in your Bumbo and you will pull up to sit from laying down but you haven't quite mastered sitting up all by yourself yet. But you're a really great supported sitter!
This month we've noticed you are starting to hold your toys, reach out for them and actually play with them; this amazes your daddy, he says he could watch you grab your toys and play all day long! Your hand-eye coordination is pretty great!
My favorite thing to watch you do is grab hold of your feet. You love them! You'll grab on to them, examine them, chew on them...everything you can do with your feet you are doing it! Of course, mommy encourages this too; when you're not grabbing your own feet I'm putting them in your face to get a big laugh out of you! I can't help it, I love the sound of your laugh!
As for movement, you are trying so hard! You will push up with your butt and arms and try to get going! Mommy calls this the "high-centered turtle" move! You'll also pull yourself around, I can lay you down and 5 seconds later you'll have yourself rotated 90 degrees!! There are mornings I'll find you turned completely around in your crib! Not sure how you do it, but it's pretty amazing! Oh, and you're still rolling back to tummy like a boss!

Other News:
You finally got to meet (most) of the rest of the Colorado Clan!! Mr. Riley really seemed to like you and we enjoyed spending the weekend with them!
Also, we had a quick mother-daughter photo shoot to help Karly Kennedy build her portfolio. Karly is one of mommy's friends breaking into the photo business so we helped her out! You were tired from partying so hard at Madi's 1st Birthday party and all the family fun that weekend so we just got a few with you awake! Here's just a few! Thanks again Karly!

Oh, and last but not least, mommy has noticed most of your hair is coming back!!! You were balding there for a little bit but your hair is coming back now and that makes me oh so happy!

Looking forward to what six months will hold for us, Baby Bear! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!

Kimber | Four Months

Weight: 14 pounds 6 ounces (59%)
Height: 25 inches (68%)

Four months old! Where is the time going! You are growing like a weed and filling our lives with so many smiles and giggles. "You'll never know dear how much we love you!"

Feedings
Mommy still pumps...a little...and you still get a little breast milk mixed with formula while I'm away. We do get to nurse at home but you always have to be topped off with formula or rice cereal. Mommy is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that I won't be able to nurse you for much longer but we're enjoying it while we can! All that matter's is that my hungry girl is full and happy!

Sleeping
You're such an awesome sleeper! You continue to sleep all the way through the night (8-10 hours) and mommy and daddy are totally loving it! Oh and you sleep in the weirdest positions during nap time.
Holding on tight to Aunt Bails blanket!
We didn't get to transition you into your crib until right before you turned four months old but much to our surprise, you had no trouble with the transition! I think you like that you have a little extra room to wiggle while you sleep! Mommy was nervous about the transition and honestly, not 100% ready for you to be away from me but having a video monitor helps. I can see you and hear you breathing so I know all is good. And if you're sleeping through the night, you must be happy too!

Mommy snapped a pic of the monitor
from your first night in your big girl crib!

Clothes/Diapers
You still fit perfect into your 0-3 month clothes! You've outgrown your 0-3 month jammies so we've switched you over to 3-6 month jammies. We're slowly wearing more and more of the 3-6 month outfits in your closet though!

You're still in size 1 diapers and we STILL haven't bought a single pack of diapers or wipes! Daddy's Beer & Diaper party was a huge success and we'll be using those diapers for quite some time!

Teeth
Nope, no teeth yet! But by the amount of drool you produce and how much you love to chew on anything you can get your mouth on, I think those are coming soon!

Milestones
Where do I begin? You are still our smiley and giggly baby bear and we love hearing those giggles! These days you're really talking up a storm! You especially like talking to yourself in the mirror, it's quite hilarious! Everyone just keeps falling in love with you!

Talking to the pretty baby in the mirror :)

In the fourth month of your life, we celebrated your First Christmas! It was so great having our little family together in the morning and enjoying time together (even though you slept through the presents) We went to Grandpa Dennis' for the day. I'm pretty sure we opened more gifts for you than anyone else combined! We also celebrated Christmas with the Steffey side on the 28th and with Grandma and Grandpa Bostwick on New Years Day. You are one very spoiled little lady!

Colt giving you kisses ... yes, he still loves you, "his baby".

We had to reschedule you Baptism from December 22nd to December 29th so I this milestone event ended up falling in your fourth month of life! You did great! You had lots of smiles for Pastor Ron too! On the first Sunday of Advent, Pastor Ron asked you to light the advent candle. Mommy and Daddy were just there to help. You were awesome! Everyone loved that you were awake and looking around when you were at the front of the church.

Of course, your First New Year, happened this month too. Since Daddy worked New Years Eve we spent time at home and on New Years Day we went to Grandma and Grandpa B's to celebrate Christmas with them. Your resolution was to make mommy and daddy happy beyond measure and you're doing great! :)

The BIG milestone you ate real food! Okay, it was just kind of by chance. At your Great-Great-Aunt Marlene's 80th Birthday Celebration you decided you wanted some of Grandma's cantaloupe. You loved it. I think you're trying to get teethers to come in and the cold felt good on your gums. You've also tried some strawberry and pineapple and daddy gave you some carrots. And daddy also likes to let you taste steak too; good thing daddy's a good steak cook! More food soon I'm guessing!
Another big milestone this month is that you've started holding your own bottle! Since you're really into your hands this is not surprising at all! You've started taking your bink out of your mouth and putting it back in too. You're so amazing, baby!
