Here's the story:
Vince and I found out on January 23rd. It was right before school and work and I was only two days late but I knew something felt different. So I closed the door, did my thing and we waited. When the test said "pregnant" we were both overcome with so many emotions. And because I took the test around 6:00 a.m., neither of us had much time to process before we had to go our separate ways for the day. We exchanged many, "Wow.", "My head is spinning."and "I'm so excited." texts throughout the entire day. We also decided to wait until we were twelve weeks before we told anyone! OMG! It's been such a hard secret to keep.
Telling our parents:
We decided to have our parents over on St. Patrick's Day for a birthday dinner to celebrate Dennis (Vince's Dad) and Melanie (my mom's) birthday. We started the dinner with gifts, a framed photo of Otis and Maxx proclaiming they're Big Brothers! My mom kept reading "Big Brothers?" out loud, we just smiled. Vince's dad told us a story about how Maxx about knocked him down the other day, we told him to look at the picture again. When they figured it out, they were all pretty excited! Dinner consisted of nothing but baby talk. What a blessing to share it with both sides of the family at the same time!
Telling everyone else:
We sent out photos via mail to grandparents, aunts, uncles and close friends and relatives. Those should have hit mailboxes on Monday or Tuesday. The FB announcement was made Monday night! Thank you all for your words of congratulations and best wishes! Like I've said, we're excited for this new adventure!
If you'd like to track the pregnancy, I'm going to try to update each week with a belly picture. Of course, you all know I'm no tiny thing so the belly progression might be interesting. ***Disclaimer: If you don't want to see a curvy girl get curvier with pregnancy, please leave now!! This is a happy time for us and we don't need your negative thoughts. Thank you! ***
Now, for the rest of you who are interested. I got this idea from Pinterest (of course) and a few other expecting friends. Enjoy the ride with us!

Daddy Moment: Vince has started cleaning out the other bedroom to make room for baby. It was also his suggestion to start stock piling diapers, so we made that first purchase this weekend. Vince has been so great putting up with me! Oh, and not specifically a "daddy moment" but I've noticed our love has grown even stronger in the past several weeks and that's a feeling that can't be beat! So excited to be married to such a wonderful man who I know will be an outstanding father!
